Pat Hughes, “The Voice of the Cubs” since 1996, has been a major league baseball announcer for more than 35 years. Before joining Cubs’ legend Ron Santo in the booth, he partnered with Bob Uecker on the Milwaukee Brewers’ Radio Network from 1984-95. Named seven times Illinois Sportscaster of the Year, Hughes is noted for his attention to detail, knowledge of baseball history, love for the game and connection with his radio audience.
He has produced/written and narrated a series on great baseball announcers entitled Baseball Voices. His releases have been short books about former colleagues Bob Uecker and Harry Caray, as well as Red Barber, Marty Brennaman, Jack Buck, Milo Hamilton, Harry Kalas, Dave Niehaus and Ron Santo.
